Tessitura Promotion Tracking

You can track certain responses from standard email campaigns back to Tessitura by using our Promotions feature. This feature automatically updates an existing promotion record in Tessitura when recipients open, click, unsubscribe or hard bounce. Associated source numbers can be edited at any time. Actions captured after a new source number is edited will be recorded on promotion records associated with the new source number.

Promotions will only record the most recent response by a contact. For example, an “Open” action displays once a contact opens an email, however, if the contact clicks on a link, the “Clicked” action overwrites the “Open” and displays a “Click Through” on the promotion record.

Promotions are a great way to track your campaigns, and because of their usefulness, the volume of promotions can quickly grow. To avoid clutter on the Prospect2 Promotions page, we encourage regular maintenance of your promotions to ensure quick and easy reference to your most relevant campaigns. You can easily manage Promotion clean up with our Bulk Deletion tool.

Before beginning, ensure your standard campaign is created in Prospect2 and the Promotion is created in Tessitura. To get started, navigate to the Promotions page in your Integrated dashboard and click “Associate a New Source”.

1

Select a Prospect2 Campaign

Associate your Tessitura source number with a Prospect2 campaign. Source numbers can only be applied to standard campaigns. It is not possible to associate more than one source number to a campaign.

2

Enter a Tessitura Promotion Source Number

Only valid source numbers generated in Tessitura will be tracked.

3

Add a Description

Add a helpful description that can can allow you to easily identify additional details about the promotion.

You can delete Promotions by using the bulk deletion tool.

Once a campaign is deployed, any actions taken on that campaign (clicks, opens, etc.) will be recorded against the promotion record associated with that contact in Tessitura for the promoted source number. Prospect2 does not automatically create promotion records, so if one does not exist for the contact/source, that action will not be recorded in Tessitura. Additionally, Prospect2 only transmits actions taken directly against the campaign. Tracking sales that occur after clicking through a campaign is functionality that would be handled by your website.

Asynchronous Promotion Processing for High Traffic

Campaigns sent to a large group of recipients can generate a lot of traffic to your Tessitura API server for processing promotions. If you’re concerned the increase in traffic could negatively impact Tessitura database performance during business hours,  then you may consider enabling asynchronous promotion processing to allow those promotions to be processed at a time of your choosing rather than in real time.
